The book, In The Eye Of Desert Storm, represents a comprehensive pictorial review of the Allied Desert Storm campaign in the Persion Gulf Region which began on January 17th, 1991 and ended on February 28th, 1991. The Allied forces in this campaign launched their attack largely from military bases in Saudi Arabia and ships in the Persion Gulf in order to forcibly push the Iraqi military out of Kuwait and back into their own country. While the casualties on both sides were relatively light due to the surgical precision of Allied munitions and the willingness of the Iraqi forces to quickly capitulate, the environmental damage caused by the retreating Iraqi's destruction of the Kuwait oil fields wrought havoc with the local environment. In addition to an informative introduction and helpful photograph captions this book includes the following: 1) Approximately 184 war-time photographs; 2) 2 original black and white aircraft gun camera photographs and 3) 1 one page gulf region map. This book is 176 pages and is in excellent condition. The images and photographs captions are from Sygma photographers with C.D.B. Bryan (introduction). Edition published in 1991.
