The film, Intimate Portrait: Marilyn Monroe, is part of the Lifetime's Intimate Portrait series that takes the viewer into the living rooms and private lives of the women who move the world.  In this installment, which is narrated by Lauren Hutton, Lifetime takes a look at actress Marilyn Monroe who was a combination of girlish innocence and knowing sex appeal and as such will forever live in our memories as the icon of American Beauty and glamour.  As the viewer will see, she achieved great Hollywood success but was not so lucky in private life.  A series of foster homes and documented domestic abuse led to a troubled childhood.  Later, failed marriages with Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller along with tragic miscarriages plagued her adult life.  In the end, the general public never knew of "Norma Jean's" anguish until it was to late.  In any event, Marilyn Monroe became not only a major movie star but a permanent part of 20th century culture.  Narrated by Lauren Hutton.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1996.  Runtime 45 minutes.
