The Junkers Ju 52 was a German, three engined civilian airliner, bomber and troop transport that began operating by flying passengers during the early 1930s.  The Ju-52 prototype was first flown in 1930 but was soon modified as both a bomber and troop transport for use during the Spainish Civil War.  The Ju-52 was a robust workhorse that could be operated out of unimproved airfields which guranteed its continued use throughout World War II.  While the basic design stayed intact through the end of World War II in 1945, a number of variants were produced that changed the armament, engine power and instrumentation over time.  The Ju-52 was also modified into an amphibious version and was equipped with two different types / lengths of pontoons.  The amphibious variant was used extensively in the North Sea and the Mediterranean combat theaters where it proved valuable during the invasions of Norway and Crete.  The operational characteristics of the Ju-52 include the following: 1) Top speed of approximately 177 m.p.h.; 2) Combat range of just under 700 miles and 3) Service ceiling of just over 19,000 feet.  The Ju-52 carried a number a of 13 mm MG-15 machine guns as defensive armament.  This older Ju-52 (2 Versions: Sea . Transport Plane) is molded in blue-gray plastic and includes the following features: 1) Alternate conventional or pontoon landing gear; 2)  Authentic Luftwaffe markings for a Ju-52 operated by Squadron III / KGzb V during the landings on Crete in 1941; 3) Clear plastic cockpit (two alternatives) and fuselage glass areas; 4) Clear plastic display base; 5) Detailed cabin and cockpit areas; 6) Detailed engines; 7) Pilot, co-pilot and gunner figures; 8) Seperate ailerons, elevators, flaps and rudder; 9) Simulated corrugated metal coverings; 10) Painting guide and 11) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in very good condition.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts and instructions inventoried.
