The Junkers Ju-87 is best remembered for its high pitched scream used during the dive bombing operations that spearheaded the German "Blitzkrieg" in the early years of World War II.  The B variant incorporated a number of refinements over earlier models and achieved notable success during the German attacks on Poland, France and the Low Countries but were decimated when used during the Battle of Britain.  While largely withdrawn from service on the western front after 1940, they again achieved moderate success in Italy, North Africa and on the eastern front.  The Ju-87 B was powered with a 1,200 h.p. Junkers Jumo engine which gave it a top speed of 238 m.p.h. at 13,000 feet.  This Ju-87 B variant could carry a bombload of just over 1,100 pounds.  This older Ju 87 B-2 "Stuka" model is molded in meduium gray plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a Ju 87 B-2 of 5 Staffel, II Gruppe, Stukageschwader 2, operating from the French airfield of Lannion during the Battle of Britain in July 1940; 2) Clear plastic one piece canopy; 3) Flexible machine gun; 4) One bomb; 5) Recessed panel lines; 6) Rivet detail; 7) Two pilot figures; 8) Painting guide and 9) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
