The Kawasaki Ki-100 was a single seat, single engine "Type-5" fighter used by the Imperial Japanese Army on a limited basis towards the end of World War II.  The Ki-100 was created by adabting a K-61 fighter fuselage to carry a Mitsubishi radial engine.  The Ki-100 saw modest success when deployed to combat American Boeing B-29 bombers which were bombing the Japanese home islands in 1945.  Almost 400 examples of all variants were built and deployed in 1945 and were used until the war ended.  The performance characteristics are as follows: 1) Top speed of 360 m.p.h.; 2) Combat range approaching 1,400 miles and 3) Service ceiling of 36,000 feet.  The Ki-100 carried two wing mounted 20 mm cannon and two fuselage mounted 12.7 mm machine guns.  This Ki-100 I "Fast Back" (Tony) model is molded in gray plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for an Imperial Japanese Army aircraft operating from the home islands in 1945; 2) Clear canopy; 3) Painting guide; 4) Recessed panel lines; 5) Two external fuel tanks and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in like new condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
