The book, Liberator, is a very limited edition pictorial study of the famous World War II B-24 bomber. This publication was sponsored by the Convair Division of General Dynamics and was not widely produced for sale. The book itself commemorates the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the Consolidated B-24 Liberator, the most produced American bomber of World War II. It also represents a "snapshot" of an era when it was still possible to go from drawing board to a test flight in less than one year which by today's standards is unthinkable. Most of this book is centered on the fully restored B-24 J, All American which took thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars to fully restore to flying condition. Each of the crew positions in the B-24 J are detailed with close-in photographs and are accompanied by brief narratives of World War II Army Air Corps veterans who manned these positions. Included in this book are: 1) 10 black and white photographs; 2) Approximately 34 color photographs; 3) 3 full color aircraft profiles and 4) Numerous illustrations. This book is 60 pages and is in like new condition. The production coordinator was Shea Dutton with Roy Gjertson, Bob Kemp and George Lang providing illustrations. Edition published in 1989.
