At the start of the America's involvement in World War II, the M3 was the United States Army's main battle tank. The M3 saw extensive action during the Allied North African campaign and was known to the British as the (General Grant) and to the United States Army as the (General Lee). Shortly after the introduction of the M3 into the North African campaign in 1942 it began to be replaced by the more modern M4 Sherman main battle tank. While replaced by the M4 Sherman, the M3 Lee/Grant went on to be the basis for a number of other support vehicles later in the war. In addition to an informative narrative, the book M3 Lee/Grant In Action (# 33) includes the following features: 1) Approximately 117 black and white photographs; 2) About 28 black and white illustrations; 3) 1 four-view M3 Lee illustration with specifications; 4) 8 color side-view tank profile illustrations and 5) 3 color cover paintings. This book is 50 pages and is in new condition. The author is Jim Mesko with Don Greer (colorist). Edition published in 1995.
