The Macchic C. 202 was the most successful and best known Italian fighter produced and operated during World War II. The Macchi C. 202 was comparable in performance to early versions of both the German Bf-109 and the British Spitfire fighters which were its contemporaries in World War II. This kit is an accurate representation of this famous World War II Italian fighter and includes authentic decals for a an aircraft leased to the Swiss for evaluation purposes. The Swiss eventually cancelled the lease contract due in part to the inferior armament the aircraft offered, as well as, the availability for testing of more advanced Macchi C.205. This package also include the following after market accessories: 1) Eduard metal MC-202 Flaps and 2) Squadron crystal clear canopy. Note: This kit can be assembled as is but is missing the factory supplied Alfa Romeo RA 1000 (DB 601) engine. The box is in investment grade condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
