The F-4 Phantom is a two seat, twin-engine, all weather, long range supersonic fighter bomber that was initially introduced during the Vietnam War but continued in service with the U.S.A.F., U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy into the 1980s.  The F-4 G Wild Weasel was modified from an F-4 E Phantom II to provide reconnaissance and "Wild Weasel" electronic counter measure roles beginning in the late 1970s.  The F-4 Phantom II was widely exported to many countries including Australia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Turkey and the United Kingdom.  The M and K variants of the F-4 Phantom II were produced exclusively for the British Royal Air Force and Navy and they were equipped with Rolls-Royce Spey Turbofan jet engines.  The McDonnell Douglas F-4 F Phantom II "Luftwaffe Fighter", which is the subject of this scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for an F-4 Phantom II as flown by the German Luftwaffe; 2) Clear plastic canopy; 3) Detailed cockpit; 4) Detailed landing gear; 5) Externally mounted drop tanks and ordnance; 6) Recessed panel lines; 7) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.  Never opened and factory sealed.
