The book, McDonnell-Douglas A-4 A/L Skyhawk In USN-US Marine Corps-Royal Australian Navy & Royal New Zealand Air Force Service (No. 34) is part of Arco-Aircam Aviation Series of publications dedicated to reviewing each famous aircraft with documented black and white vintage photographs, color side view illustrations and color aircraft insignia.  The A-4 Skyhawk is a delta wing carrier capable, single engine attack aircraft that replaced the venerable, piston engine AD Skyraider.  The A-4 Skyhawk was introduced into Navy service during the mid 1950s and saw considerable service during the Vietnam War.  The A-4 Skyhawk carried two wing mounted 20 mm cannon along with a wide variety of bombs, missiles and rockets.  This book provides a pictorial perspective of this aircraft from the initial production A variant up through the L version, which was essentially a C variant upgraded with the latest avionics package.  In addition to an informative seven page narrative history of the McDonnell-Douglas A-4 A/L Skyhawk variants, this book includes the following features: 1) Approximately 68 black and white photographs; 2) 35 color side view illustrations and 3) 4 pages of black and white aircraft camouflage and painting scheme illustrations.  This book is 50 pages and is in excellent condition.  The author is Ernest R. McDowell with Richard Ward (illustrations).  Edition published in 1971.
