The Mercedes Benz SSKL is a classic roadster designed by Ferdinand Porsche and built by Mercedes-Benz between 1928 and 1932.  In all, approximately 40 SSKs were built during its five year production run of which roughly half were sold as racing cars.  The racing car variant was built with a supercharged seven litre straight six engine which produced up to 300 h.p..  The race version of the SSK was entered in many period races including the Irish 1930 Grand Prix, the Argentine 1931 Grand Prix, the German 1931 Grand Prix and the 1931 Mille Migalia.  This model kit can be completed as either a stock car or the racing version entered in the April 12 - 13, 1931 Mille Migalia.  Included in this multi-colored model are the following: 1) Authentic markings for a SSK racing car entered in the 1931 Mille Miglia; 2) Clear windshield and light lenses; 3) Color paint chart; 4) Detailed engine interior; 5) Detailed interior; 6) Metalized parts; 7) Removable bonnet; 8) Rubber tires and 9) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition but does have two pieces of original packaging tape on either side of the box.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
