The German Me-110 was developed by Messerschmitt for use by the Luftwaffe during World War II. It was technically a twin engined, two to three seat heavy fighter / bomber that was first introduced into the Luftwaffe in 1937. By the time production of this famous aircraft had ceased, almost 6,200 of all variants had been produced. The operational characteristics of the Me-110 are as follows: 1) Top speed of almost 350 m.p.h.; 2) Combat range of 1,500 miles and 3) Service ceiling of approximately 35,000 feet. The Me-110 could carry up to two 20 mm cannons, four fixed 7.92 mm machine guns and one flexible mounted rearward firing 7.92 mm machine gun. The Me-110 could also carry a light bombload when battlefield conditions required this additional offensive capability. The Me-110 C, which is the subject of this older, out-of-production small scale model, was the first mass produced variant of this fighter / bomber. This Me-110 C model is molded in gray color plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a Me-100 C operated by the Luftwaffe during World War II; 2) Clear one-piece plastic canopy; 3) Display stand molded in white plastic; 4) Recessed planel lines; 5) Paint guide and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in excellent condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
