The Mikoyan MiG-21, (N.A.T.O. code name "Fishbed") is a second generation, single jet engined, single seat supersonic jet fighter aircraft designed and built by the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau in the former U.S.S.R..  The MiG-21 is perhaps the best known "Warsaw Pact", Cold War era jet fighter ever produced.  This jet holds a number of records including the most produced combat jet aircraft in history and the longest produciton run of a jet aircraft.  In addition to the former Soviet Union, the Mig-21 has been used by over 50 countries including the air forces of India, Romania and Vietnam.  The MiG-21 made its first flight in 1956 and by the time production ceased over 10,000 units of all variants had been produced.  The performance characteristics of the MiG-21 are as follows: 1) Top speed of almost 1,400 m.p.h. and 2) Maximum service ceiling of approximately 62,000 feet.  The MiG-21 carried a centerlined mounted, twin barrelled 23 mm cannon and a variety of air-to-air and air-to-ground missles.  This scaled model of the Mikoyan Mig-21 "Fishbed" is molded in colored plastic and includes the following: 1) Authentic markings for an aircraft operated by the Soviet Air Force; 2) Clear canopy; 3) Detailed cockpit; 4) External wing mounted Atoll infra-red missles and 5) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition and was produced in Brazil.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
