The book MiG-29 Soviet Superfighter, which is part of the Osprey Colour Series, is a pictorial review of one of the most sophisticated air superiority fighters flying in any air force today.  The author makes the point in his introduction that the long standing and erroneous belief that the Mikoyan MiG-29 is inferior to contemporary Western jet fighters including the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-18 Hornet  is simply not true.  In fact, closer inspection of the MiG-29 in the late 1980s revealed a much closer match-up between Soviet fighters of the era and jet fighters of the Western nation's air forces.  To the point, the MiG-29's avionics, overall performance and weaponry are very similar to its contemporaries in the West.  Its "heads-up" over-the-horizon fire control system is even thought by some, including the author, to be more advanced than that found on most current Western jet fighters.  Included in the book, MiG-29 Soviet SuperFighter, are the following sections: 1) Fulcrum in Finland; 2) With Frontal Aviation; 3) The Red Star of Farnborough; 4) Fighting Fulcrum: Showing its Paces; 5) Uchebno Bitua- Combat Trainer; 6) Walk-around; 7) Fulcrum Farewell; 8) Foreign Fulcrums and 9) Encore!.  These nine book sections are lavishly documented with approximately 118 color photographs many of which are taken in a "walk-around" manner.  This book is 127 pages and is in very good condition.  The author is Jon Lake.  Edition published in 1989.
