     The Mikoyan MiG-23 (N.A.T.O. code name "Flogger") is a "swing-wing", single jet engine, single seat fighter aircraft designed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau.  It was the first mass produced fighter in the U.S.S.R. to incorporate "look-down / shoot-down" radar and carried a complement of beyond visual range missiles.  The "Flogger" first flew in 1967 and by the time production ceased in 1994 over 5,000 units of all variants had been produced.  In addition to the Soviet Union, the MiG-23 has been flown by the Russian, Indian and Libyan Air Forces respectively.  The MiG-23's performance characteristics are as follows: 1) Top speed of about 1,500 mph. at altitude; 2) Maximum mission range of almost 600 miles and 3) Maximum service ceiling of almost 61,000 feet.  The "Flogger" carries one 23 mm cannon and a varied assortment of fuselage and wing mounted missiles.  This Mikoyan Mig-23 scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for an aircraft operated by the former Soviet Air Force; 2) Clear one piece plastic canopy; 3) Externally mounted bombs; 4) Externally mounted missiles; 5) Optional position variable geometry wing; 6) Recessed panel lines and 7) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
