The Mitsubishi Type 21 Zero was considered "state of the art" when it was used in the surprise Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. This variant of the famous Zero fighter plane grossed just over 5,300 pounds with a full war load, including auxiliary gas tank, ammunition and pilot and was capable of staying airborne for a full 12 hours on approximately 190 gallons of gasoline. This far exceeded the capabilities of other World War II era fighters like the American F4F Wildcat or P-40 Warhawk, the German Me 109 and the British Spitfire. While its performance early in World War II made it a powerful adversary, Allied fighter models introduced later in the war were more than a match for the A6M2 Type 21 Zero. This kit is an accurate representation of the famed A6M2 Type 21 Zero and comes complete with authentic decals and full instructions in English. Also, included in this package are the following after market accessories: 1) Eduard metal Zero flaps and 2) KMC Japanese Imperial Army 250 kg plastic bombs. The model box is in overall very good condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
