The North American built AT-6 Texan was produced beginning in World War II as a single engined, advanced trainer for the United States Army Air Corps., United States Navy, the Bristish Royal Air Force and for the other air forces of the British Commonwealth nations. The AT-6 was named the "Texan" in the United States and outside America as the "Harvard". The AT-6 was produced in many variants, was used as an advanced trainer well into the 1950s and included the following operational characteristics: 1) Top speed of just over 200 m.p.h.; 2) Range of just over 700 miles and 3) Service ceiling of about 24,000 feet. Variants of the venerable T-6 Texan modified for use in the counter insurgency role were used by a number of foreign country air forces including those of France and Portugal well into the 1970s. By the time production ended, almost 15,500 units had been produced. This older, out-of-production 51 piece N.AT-6 G Texan model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a N.AT-6 G Texan operated by E.A.L.A. 13/72, Algerie, 1957 and N.AT-6 G Texan operated by Garde Presidentielle, Gabon, 1976; 2) Clear plastic canopy; 3) Detailed engine; 4) Detailed landing gear; 5) Externally mounted rocket pods; 6) Recessed panel lines; 7) Painting guide and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in excellent condition. Never started and factory sealed.
