The Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa (Allied code name Oscar) was the most extensively produced Japanese Army Air Force aircraft of World War II.  While its stablemate in the Japanese Navy, the Mitsubishi Zero-Sen is more widely known the Army's Hayabusa was active and deadly during the war.  Its relatively unknown status probably is due to it often being identified incorrectly as a Zero, which from a distance, looks like a Ki-43 Hayabusa.   The Nakajima built Ki-43 Hayabusa was maneuverable and was significant in that it bridged the gap between two generations of fighting airplanes.  The Ki-43 Hayabusa was the first Japanese Army Air Force fighter aircraft to have a retractable main landing gear and was built continuously for 6.5 years by Nakajima until the end of the war in the late summer of 1945.  This older, out-of-production, Nakajima Ki-43-II Hayabusa (Oscar) is molded in olive drab plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a Ki-43-II variant flown by the Japanese Army during World War II; 2) Clear plastic canopy; 3) Detailed cockpit; 4) Detailed landing gear; 5) Recessed panel lines; 5) Painting guide and 6) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in like-new condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
