The movie, No Time For Sergeants (Original Live Broadcast ) was filmed on March 15, 1955 in front of a live audience as part of the U.S. Steel Hour.  The film focuses on the the adventures of a backwoods country boy named Will Stockdale who has just joined the United States Army.  Will turns out to be quick as a whip and strong as an ox which is amply displayed by the practical jokes he plays on his sergeant and the other soldiers in his barracks.  This film was adapted by Ira Levin and has become a classic from the golden era of television.  This video version of this early television shows also includes interviews with the star Andy Griffith and another hollywood legend Roddy McDowall.  Starring Andy Griffith, Joe Brown and Eddie Le Roy among others.  Full screen in black and white.  Released in 1993.  Runtime 60 minutes.
