This very detailed kit of the North American FJ-4B Fury represents the U.S. Navy's last non-afterburner attack jet.  Although the FJ-4B Fury was similar to the more famous F-86 Sabre it had very little in common with its sibling given the fact that its wings and fuselage were completely different and it had a more powerful engine.  The FJ-4B used a Wright engine generating 7,800 pounds of thrust, could fly at 40,000 feet at speeds in excess of 600 knots and had a range of 1,300 miles.  A total of 372 FJ-4s of all variants were produced in the mid-1950s and had the distinction of being the Navy's last non-afterburner jet fighter.  This kit includes a detailed cockpit, 5 Bull Pup missles, canopy masks, photo-etched  and white metal nose gear strut.  This kit also includes authentic markings for: 1) FJ-4B of HSMS-11, Japan, Summer 1957; 2) FJ-4B Bu.No. 139290 of VU-? and 3) FJ-4B VMF-323, Spring, 1958.  Never started and factory sealed.
