 The Northrop Gamma was designed in 1933 by John Knudsen Northrop and featured many innovative concepts such as monococque fuselages, multi-cellular wing construction, full span flaps and nearly all metal structure.  The first Gamma was built for Frank Hawks and sponsored by Texaco oil company.  Many cross country speed records were established by Hawks piloting his aircraft named "Sky Chief" during 1933 and 1934.  The second Gamma was built for Dr. Lincoln Ellsworth for purposes of an Antartica expedition and was named "Polar Star".  The "Polar Star" is now housed at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C..  This finely detailed model of the Northrop Gamma includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for Frank Hawks' "Sky Chief" or Dr. Ellsworths's " Polar Star"; Two different Engines; 3) Two Different cowlings; 4) Two different nose sections; 5) Two and three blade propellers; 6) Two different canopies; 7) Two different tail wheels and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in like-new condition.  The box is in good condition.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
