The book, Nostalgia North American: Colorful Publicity Of The Trunk Airlines Of The U.S. And Their Ancestors is the companion volume to Nostalgia Panamericana, which focused mainly on Pan America Airways and its associates.  In this book, the focus is on the history of the other North American airlines, their predecessors and their early landplanes during the glory days of airline expansion that took place in the 1920s and 1930s.  The progress of American, TWA and United Airlines, their mergers with smaller airlines to complete their route structures and their acquisitions of ever larger and faster aircraft fueled a race between trunk airlines to offer the best "coast-to-coast" service.  This frenetic pace of expansion is reflected in the colorful artwork of the various airline baggage labels, timetables and sales brochures.  The author of this book freely admits that it was impossible to include all the material from the various United States airlines operating in the 1920s and 1930s in the 64 pages allocated for this book.  The cost of color separations and the desire for uniformity in both size and price in the author's related series of books meant the material from many of these early airlines had to be omitted.  Specifically, the author had to pass on material from airlines like Embry-Riddle, National Airlines, Delta Air Service, General Airlines, Inland Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Gilpin Airlines, Pickwick Airways, Rapid Air Transport, Mamer Air Transport, Varney Air Lines, Varney Speed Lines and many more.  The major sections of this book include a Foreword, Introduction and colorful illustrations from the following airlines: 1) The AeroLimited-Aeromarine (1920); 2) Florida Airways (1926); 3) P.R.T. Air Service (1926); 4) The Detroit-Cleveland Air Line (1927 & 1928); 5) Stout Air Line (1929); 6) Thompson Aeronautical Corp. (1930); 7) Boston-Maine-Central Vermont Airways (1931); 8) Texas Air Transport (1927); 9) T.A.T. Flying Service (1929); 10) Robertson Aircraft Corp. (1928); 11) Colonial Air Transport (1927 & 1929); 12) Universal Air Lines (1929 & 1930); 13) American Airways (1930 & 1930s); 14) American Airways - Pennsylvania Airlines (1933 - 1935); 15) American Airlines (1934 & 1936); 16) American Airlines - Hindenberg - Lufthansa (1937); 17) New York - Washington Air Line - Ludington Line (1929); 18) The Ludington Line (1930); 19) Eastern Air Transport (1930s); 20) Eastern Air Transport - Wedell Williams Air Lines (1931); 21) Eastern Air Lines (1936); 22) Braniff Airways (1932); 23) Bowen Air Lines (1933); 24) The Boeing System (1930); 25) National Air Transport (1929); 26) Cliffore Ball Inc. (1930); 27) Pennsylvania Airlines (1931); 28) United Airlines (1931, 1933 & 1937); 29) Transcontinental Air Transport (1929); 30) TAT-Maddux Airlines (1929); 31) Maddux Air Lines (1928 & 1929); 32) Transcontinental & Western Air - Greyhound (1931); 33) Transcontinental & Western Air (1932, 1935, 1939 & 1940); 34) West Coast Air Transport (1928); 35) Standard Air Lines (1929); 36) Western Air Express (1928, 1929 & 1932); 37) National Parks Airways (1928); 38) Wyoming Air Service (1934) and 39) Nevada Air Lines (1929).  In addition to an informative Foreword, Introduction and photograph captions, "Nostalgia North American: Colorful Publicity Of The Trunk Airlines Of The U.S. And Their Ancestors" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 17 black and white photographs and 2) About 95 color photographs.  This book is 64 pages and is in excellent condition.  The author is W. Donald Thomas with W. Donald Thomas (photography) and R.E.G. Davies (foreword).  Edition published in 1990.
