The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was one of the great American aircraft of World War II.  While initially developed in 1936, it continued to evolve until it reached the late-war J variant which possessed great speed, power, altitude capability, maneuverability and reliability.  This detailed kit of the P-38J includes authentic markings for "Marge" an aircraft flown by Major Richard.  Included in this kit, which is molded in cream colored plastic, are the following: 1) Clear opening cockpit canopy; 2) Fully detailed cockpit; 3) Four .50 caliber machine gunes and one 20 mm cannon; 4) Movable wheels and propellers; 5) Detailed Allison engine with removable cowl and 6) Full underwing stores.  The kit is 14 1/4 "s long with a  19 1/2 "s wingspan when complete.  Also included in this package are two sets of aftermarket wingtips manufacturesd by The Modeler's Weapons Shop.  Note: this model has had several steps in the build process completed including the Allison engine, left fuselage and underwing center assembly.  The price has been lowered substantially from a complete unbuilt kit price of $45.  The box is in good condition.  Partially started and with all parts, decals and instructions.
