The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was one of the great American aircraft of World War II.  While initially developed in 1936, it continued to evolve until it reached the late-war J variant which possessed great speed, power, altitude capability, maneuverability and reliability.  This detailed kit of the P-38J includes authentic markings for an aircraft flown by Major Thomas B. McGuire who scored 38 air combat victories in World War II while flying 5 different Lightnings each bearing the name Pudgy.  Included in this kit, which is molded in gray plastic, are the following: 1) Clear canopy; 2) Detailed wheel wells; 3) Fuselage drop tanks; 4)Underwing rockets and 5) Accurate instructions.  The box is in very good condition with some wear on the corners and edges respectively.   Never started and factory sealed with all parts, decals and instructions.
