The North American P-51 D Mustang was considered by many to be the best all-around fighter to come out of World War II.  It was fast and maneuverable and performed equally wel atl both high and low altitudes.  The P-51 D also performed equally well both the roll of long range bomber escort and as a ground attack fighte-bomber.  The P-51 D was so outstanding as a all-around fighter aircraft that even at the dawn of the jet age during the Korean War of the early 1950s, it was still being used in numbers as a front-line fighter-bomber.  While some Mustangs soldierd on in third world air forces well in to the 1960s, most were retired from front-line service in western nations by the late 1950s.  This older, out-of-production P-51 D Mustang kit comes with authentic markings for the following three aircraft: 1) 317th Fighter Squadron, 325th Fighter Group, 15th Air Force, Vincenzu, Italy; 2) 375th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group, 8th Air Force, Little Walden, Herts and 3) 363rd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force, Leiston, United Kingdom.  Also included with this model are the following: 1) A color paint guide and 2) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in very good condition.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
