The book, Pearl Harbor Story: The Way It Was - December 7, 1941, is a souvenir pictorial publication available for purchase in the late 1980s from Hawaiian Cruises, a local tour company which offered cruises aboard the 110' Adventure V twice daily to Pearl Harbor from Kewalo Basin, near Waikiki.  The Adventure V offered a beautiful cruise along the Oahu shoreline and then on through historic Pearl Harbor.  The narrative of "Pearl Harbor: The Way It Was - December 7, 1941" begins with the Japanese Imperial Navy setting sail in November 1941 for an attack on the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  Once the Japanese high command gave the green-light to proceed, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto ordered the execution of Operation Z, which set in motion the naval activities that ended with the Imperial Japanese navy's two wave attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  "Pearl Harbor: The Way It Was - December 7, 1941" then proceeds in words and photographs to document the unfolding of the "date that will live in infamy".  In addition to an informative narrative, "Pearl Harbor: The Way It Was - December 7, 1941" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 33 black and white illustrations; 2) 6 color photographs; 3) 2 maps; 4) 1 multi-page list on the United States Navy and Marine personnel who died in action or are presumed dead aboard the U.S.S. Arizona; 5) 1 Aichi D3AI Model II (Val) color illustration with specifications; 6) 1 Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero-sen (Zeke) color illustration with specifications and 7) 1 Nakajima B5N2 (Kate) color illustration with specifications.  This book is 64 pages and is in very good condition.  The author is Scott C.S. Stone.  Edition published in 1987.
