The Pitts Special is a light aerobatic bi-plane designed by Curtis Pitts during World War II.  The Pitts Special was first flown in 1944 and dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s.  It is still considered a potent competition aircraft in the lower power categories.  A number of variants of the basic design have been introduced over the years including the single seat S1 version powered by up to a 200 h.p. engine and the two seat S2A version powered by up to a 260 h.p. engine.  This model represents an accurate reproduction of the Pitts S2A as flown competatively by the "Canadian Reds" civilian aerobatic team.  This older, out-of-production kit is molded in red plastic and includes authentic markings for the "Canadian Reds" aerobatic team as sponsored by Skil Power Tools and complete illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
