The Pkw.k1 Type 82 Kubelwagen was a four door, four cylinder gas powered, two wheel drive military vehicle designed by Ferdinand Porshe and built by Volkswagen during World War II for use mainly by the German Wehrmact and Waffen SS. The Type 82's design was loosely based on a highly modified Volkswagen Beetle chassis. It had a body that was purpose built from the start in order to meet the demanding needs of the military under battlefield conditions. Full scale manufacturing of the Type 82 began in early 1940 and no major changes were made prior to the ending of production in May, 1945 which came about as a result of the German surrender. Almost 51,000 units were manufactured before the production of the Type 82 ceased. This older, out-of-production kit is molded in dark gray plastic and includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a vehicle operated by the German Army during World War II; 2) Clear plastic windshield; 3) Detailed chassis; 4) Detailed engine; 5) Three soldiers molded in green plastic; 6) Paint guide and 7) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in excellent condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
