The production Porsche Carrera RSR was sold to racing teams during the 1970s and scored outright wins in a number of major sports car races.  In addition, a prototype Carrera RSR Turbo powered by a 2.1 L turbocharged engine won several major races and came in second at the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hour race in 1974.  This feat was significant in that the engine used in this prototype race car would go on to form the basis of a number of future Porsche attempts in high performance sports car racing.  With the exception of the Porsche 917, the use of this engine in the Carrera RSR Turbo is generally regarded as the starting point for Porsche's commitment to use turbo-charging in its production road cars.  This old, out-of-production 31 piece Porsche scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic racing decals; 2) Clear plastic glass areas; 3) Front air dam; 4) Molded in orange; 5) Plated parts; 6) Racing wheels; 7) Rear spoiler; 8) Roll bar; 9) Black vinyl tires and 10) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in good condition with a small piece torn from the lower edge of the box-top side.  Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
