The book, Postwar Military Aircraft # 4: Avro Vulcan represents a comprehensive pictorial study the Avro delta wing "Cold War" era British bomber.  "Postwar Military Aircraft # 4: Avro Vulcan" tells the full story of the Vulcan and its wide range of operations and roles along with interesting details of the design, development and manufacturing of both the aircraft and its weapons.  As the Royal Air Force's main V-bomber, the Avro Vulcan was capable of carrying both free-fall and standoff nuclear weapons.  The Vulcan was the last "all-British" designed bomber manufactured during the "Cold War".  The Vulcan operated from Royal Air Force bases at Coningsby, Cottesmore, Finningley, Scampton and Waddington on a regular basis and it was dispersed to forward bases when called upon.  While the Avro Vulcan was a potent nuclear bomb carrying deterrent during the long "Cold War", its only use in wartime came when it was called up to fly long-range missions to the Falkland Islands during the Falklands War with Argentine in 1982.  In its initial mission over the Falkland Islands, one Vulcan dropped a load of twenty-one conventional 1,000-pound bombs on the Port Stanley airport, which resulted in the destruction of a hanger, the runway and some military equipment.  This single attack contributed to the favorable outcome of the war for Great Britain as it denied the use of this airport to the Argentina Air Force who might otherwise have positioned their own Mirages, Skyhawks and Super Etendards.  The major sections of "Postwar Military Aircraft # 4: Avro Vulcan" are as follows: 1) Introduction; 2) Chapter 1 - The Proud Tradition; 3) Chapter 2 - Avro And Roy Chadwick; 4) Chapter 3 - Delta Evolution; 5) Chapter 4 - Mini Deltas; 6) Chapter 5 - Trials And Tribulations; 7) Chapter 6 - Vulcan's Forge; 8) Chapter 7 - Higher and Further; 9) Chapter 8 - Flying the Tin Triangle; 10) Chapter 9 - Blue Steel And Skybolt; 11) Chapter 10 - Bomber Operations - From Pinecastle To Port Stanley; 12) Chapter 11 - The Eternal Triangle; 13) Apendix I - Vulcan Data; 14) Appendix II - Vulcan Squadrons and 15) Appendix III - Vulcan Production.  In addition to an informative narrative, "Postwar Military Aircraft # 4: Avro Vulcan" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 118 black and white photographs; 2) About 15 black and white illustrations; 3) 2 maps; 4) 1 black and white illustration with descriptions of the Vulcan Crew positions and emergency equipment; 5) 1 three-view black and white Vulcan B.1A illustration; 6) 1 three-view black and white Vulcan B.2 illustration and 7) 1 black and white Vulcan B Mk.2 cut-away drawing with component descriptions.  This book is 128 pages and is in excellent condition.  The author is Andrew Brookes.  Edition published in 1985.

Ike,I uradnstend the legacy of our intervention in Vietnam differently than you. If they seem sanguine to you (and I do not believe they are, no matter what Western tourists to that country might report) it is only because they experienced The American W
