The book "Queen Of The Midnight Skies" chronicles not only the P-61 "Black Widow". it also reviews the Douglas P-70 series, the P-38 night fighter variants, the Bristol Beaufighter, Mitchell B-25s, the DeHavilland Mosquito, the proposed XA-26A and the P-39 nightfighters.  Historical accounts of American night fighter pilots along with the complete history of all night fighter squadrons formed during World War II are included as is the development of airborne radar and modern air defences.  This book is the product of over twenty years of study and research.  Its scources include the National Archives, Northrup Aircraft archive, the U.S. Air Force Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum and interviews with P-61 test pilots, designers and engineers.  This book is 368 pages.  The authors are Garry R Pape and Ronald C Harrison with Robert Biondi (book design).  Edition published in 1992.
