The movie, Quicksand, is a tense, tightly knit drama centering on a an innocent young mechanic who "borrows" $20.00 from the cash register of the company he works for in order to take out an evil seductress.  From this point on in the movie the mechanic's troubles snowball as the seductress tempts him into a spiraling sequence of worsening illegal activities.  The sad truth along the way is that the mechanic's problems began as a result of wanting to impress the seductress when all along another beautiful girl is ready and willing to accept the mechanic for who he is.  The riveting story builds to a gripping climax as the mechanic becomes deeper and deeper entangled in a web of misdeeds.  Starring Mickey Rooney, Peter Lorre and Jeanne Cagney among others.  Full screen in black and white.  Released in 1950.  Runtime 80 minutes.
