The movie, Ride Lonesome, begins with former sheriff named Ben Brigade capturing a young desperado named Billy John.  Ben rides off with Billy to take him into Santa Cruz to collect the reward knowing that he will likely be found guilty and hung for killing a man.  Ben and Billy all the while are being pursued by his brother Frank who is intent on killing the sheriff and freeing his prisoner.  Along the way. they come across a remote ranch that has a young widow and several gun fighters one of which, Sam Boone, is planning on reforming and settling down.  The group decides to all head for Santa Cruz, because in addition to being pursued by Billy's brother, a warring band of Indians wants to kill the men and capture the women.  When Fraak finally catches up with the group, he is gunned down by Ben in showdown fight.  It is at this point that Ben decides to ride off alone leaving Sam and Carrie to take Billy in and collect the reward.  This in interesting Western that includes beautiful scenery and plenty of action.  Starring Randolph Scott, Karen Steele and Pernell Roberts among others.  Full screen in color.
