The movie, Rio Bravo, centers on a Sheriff named John T. Chance and his two deputies that must prevent an army of gunmen from springing a murderous sidekick from jail. Rio Bravo is a classic Western that packs solid heroics around a strong emotional center. When one of the local gunmen kills a patron in a local saloon, Chance arrests him a puts him in jail. The gunman's friends vow to spring him and the citizen's of the town wonder how Chance will prevent the "bad-guys" from rescuing their friend. On the Sheriff's side are two deputies, one a drunk and the other an old man. Into this mix of characters enters a younger cowboy who is good with his gun and out to prove himself. Also, advising Chance is a woman with a past that hopes to rope the Sheriff in the end. The question that remains is whether or not the "good-guys" will win out against the mudering gunmen. In the end, Rio Bravo which was directed by the legendary Howard Hawks, captures the cinematic Old West many grew up with and is sure to please any viewer who likes classic western fims.
