The book, Rocky Mountain Madness: A Bittersweet Romance, is a pictorial study of the heyday of Victorian splendor when Banff was a rustic yet charming outpost of the "Empire" and the streets were filled with climbers, cooks, cowboys, guides, outfitters, photographers and poets.  This book represents an entertaining collection of amusing newspaper accounts, historical photographs, reminiscencces and letters that evoke what the Rocky Mountains meant for these people.  To quote the authors, this book includes, "accounts of occasional accomplishment, accomplished adventure, adventurous rambling and rambling discourse".  In the end, Rocky Mountain Madness: A Bittersweet Romance, represents the "Stories & Photos Of History In The Making".  In addition to an informative narrative, this book includes the following: 1) Approximately 130 vintage black and white photographs and 2) About 26 black and white illustrations.  This book is 128 pages and is in excellent condition.  The author is Jon Whyte with Edward Cavell (photography).  Edition published in 1987.
