The Rotabugy also known as the Malcolm Rotaplane was a British World War II era experimental aircraft that was a combination Willys MB Jeep and autogyro.  It was designed by Raoul Hafner of the Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment (AFEE) and was an attempt to come up with a way of delivering Jeeps to the battle front as cheaply and easily as possible.  The prototype was built by the M.L. Aviation Company at White Waltham in 1942.  The first test flight conducted on November 16, 1943 proved unsuccessful due to the slowness off the tow vehicle.  The prototype sircraft was finally able to take flight on November 27, 1943 after the use of a more powerful tow vehicle.  Additional refinements allowed the Rotabugy to achieve a flight speed of 70 m.p.h. on February 1, 1944.  A final test was conducted in September, 1944 when the unit flew at 65 m.p.h. for 10 minutes at a height of 400 feet.  The concept was ultimately abandoned in favor of vehicle carrying aircraft such as the British Horsa and American Waco gliders.  This limited production Rotabugy Flying Jeep kit which comes from the Czech Republic includes authentic British markings and complete assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.   Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
