Between 1933 and 1942, the Ryan Aeronautical Company manufactured 1,238 military versions of the ST Series Aircraft. The original Ryan ST was powered by a 95 hp Menasco B-4 engine while the later military version the STM-S2 (seaplane version of the PT-20 was powered by a 150 hp Menasco C-4S motor. The ST/PT-20 with conventional landing gear weighed 1,630 pounds and had a cruising speed of 120 mph. The STM-S2 weighed 1,828 pounds and had a cruising speed of 108 mph. This older, out-of-production Ryan ST/PT-20 scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic United States Army Air Force markings; 2) Choice of aerodynamic and conventional landing gear or floats; 3) Clear plastic wind screens; 4) Display base molded in silver-gray colored plastic; 5) Two pilot figures; 6) Molded in silver-gray colored plastic; 7) Recessed panel lines and rivet detail; 8) Simulated fabric detail; 9) Spinning propeller; 10) Painting guide and 11) Illustrated assembly instructions. The model box is in very good condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
