The book, SBC Helldiver In Action (# 151) represents a pictorial study of the SBC Helldiver, which was a two-place, single engine bi-plane scout "bomber" built by the Curtis-Wright Corporation.  The Curtis SBC Helldiver, known in the Royal Air Force as the Cleveland I holds the distinction of being the last military bi-plane ordered by the United States Navy.  It was introduced into the United States Navy in 1938 and by 1943 all remaining examples were retired from active use.  Fewer than 260 Helldivers were produced of all variants with sizable numbers serving in the United States Marine Corps, the French Navy and the Royal Air Force.  The operational characteristics of the Curtiss SBC-4 Helldiver / Cleveland I are as follows: 1) Top speed of just over 230 mph; 2) Combat range of just over 400 miles and 3) Service ceiling of about 24,000 feet.  The SBC Helldiver carried one fixed forward firing .30 caliber machine gun, one flexible rearward firing .30 caliber machine gun and could carry a bomb load of up to 1,000 pounds.  The major sections of "SBC Helldiver In Action (# 151)" are as follows: 1) Introduction; 2) SBC-3; 3) SBC-4; 4) The French Connection and 5) Marine Corps. Operations.  In addition to an informative narrative, "SBC Helldiver In Action (# 151)" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 107 black and white photographs; 2) About 16 black and white illustrations; 3) 3 color illustrations; 4) 8 color side aircraft profile illustrations; 5) 1 three-view Curtiss SBC-3 Helldiver black and white illustration with specifications; 6) 1 three-view Curtiss SBC-4 Helldiver black and white illustration with specifications and 7) 3 color cover paintings.  This book is 50 pages and is in excellent condition.  The author is Thomas E. Doll with Don Greer & Tom Tullis (colorist) and Joe Sewell (illustrations).  Edition published in 1995.
