The S.E.5 was a British biplane fighter produced by the Royal Aircraft Factory during World War I. The S.E.5 along with the Sopwith Camel biplane fighter were instrumental in regaining Allied air superiority during the summer of 1917 and maintaining it thereafter through the end of the war. The S.E.5 A had a 200 h.p. Hispano-Suiza engine and had the following operational characteristics: 1) Top speed of 126 m.p.h.; 2) Combat range of about 300 miles and 3) Service ceiling of approximately 17,000 feet. The S.E.5 carried two .303 caliber machine guns and had external hard-points under the two lower wings to carry up to four small bombs. This older, already built S.E.5 A model was part of the Bachman "Mini-Planes" series available for sale in the late 1960s up through the 1970s. This S.E.5 A model features the following: 1) Hand decorated; 2) Moving parts and 3) Super detailed. The box is in very good condition. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
