The Shorts Tucano was developed by the British Short Brothers company in order to meet a requirement to replace the Jet Provost as the basic trainer for the R.A.F..  It is an adaptation of the Brazilian Embraer EMB-312 Tucano fitted with the more powerful 1100 shp Garrett turboprop instead of the standard Pratt & Whitney 750 shp engine used in the EMB-312.  The Shorts Tucano T. MK.1 was operational deployed with the R.A.F. beginning in 1989 and was subsequently exported to Kenya and Kuwait.  The model box is in like new condition.  This British kit is factory sealed and has never been started.
