The Sikorsky CH-54 A Skycrane was designed in the 1960s to be literally a flying crane. Its twin turbine engines and overall size allowed it to lift everything from detachable cargo pods to 105 mm Howitzer field guns with ease. As of the time this Sikorsky CH-54 A Skycrane kit was issued in 1969, it was claimed flying cranes had recovered more than $40,000,000 in downed aircraft from many different Vietnam battlefield and jungle locations. This Silorsky CH-54 A Skycrane kit when complete has a rotor span of 12"s and an overall length of 11.75"s. This kit includes the following features: 1) Authentic United States Army markings for an aircraft operated during the Vietnam War; 2) Clear cockpit windows; 3) Collector's three view drawing; 4) Detachable cargo pod (or aerial hospital) with opening doors; 5) Detailed Pratt and Whitney jet engines; 6)Moving rotor blades that raise and lower a cargo winch; 7) Moving wheels; 8) 105 mm Howitzer field gun and 9) Illustrated assembly instructions. The box is in very good condition with a pricing lable tear in the upper right hand area of the model box top. Never started and 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions inventoried.
