The candy apple red, steel-bodied Silhouette was hand built by Bill Cushenberry and completed by the summer of 1962.  The starting point for this futuristic show car was actually a modified 1956 Buick frame.  The Silhouette was powered by a fuel injected Buick engine and had custom wire wheels.  The engine and wheels were replaced in 1963 with a Ford dual quad 429 V-8 engine and slotted mag wheels.  This vehicle included a hinged windshield in front of the roll-bar, tilting steering column, red and white leather interior, "floating instrument panel" and bucket seats.  In 1963, the Silhouette Show Car was purchased by the Ford Motor Company to tour as a featured vehicle in the "Ford Custom Car Caravan".  This out-of-production, 100 piece Silhouette Show Car scale model can be built as a custom or stock vehicle and includes the following components: 1) Chrome parts; 2) Clear plastic two piece windshield; 3) Detailed interior; 4) Detailed engine; 5) Opening hood; 6) Opening trunk; 7) Opening windshield; 8) Optional supercharged engine; 9) Optional wheels; 10) Trailer with opening rear gate; 11) Vinyl blackwall wheels and 12) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in like-new condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
