This postcard depicts a United States Army soldier waving from an open portal of a passenger ship leaving for the battlefront during World War II. The postcard was created both as an advertisement to buy war bonds and as an inexpensive method for America's armed forces personnel to write home. This post card has writing on the back, has a cancellation stamp reading, "Chico Jul 7 10:38 am 1943 Calif." and is in very good condition with only minor wear on the four corners.
