The Sopwith T.F.2 Salamander was a British armored ground attack aircraft that first flew in the Spring of 1918. World War I ended, however, before the type could enter squadron service although two were documented to have been in France in October, 1918. The primary role for this single engine, single seat bi-plane airplane was that of ground attack. Approximately 420 Salamander's were built before production ended in 1919. The Salamander had a maximum speed of 117 m.p.h. at 10,000 feet, had a service ceiling of 13,000 feet and had an endurance of about 1.5 hours. The Salamander's armament consisted of two .303 Vickers machine guns and four light bombs. Included in this detailed kit of the Sopwith T.F. 2 Salamander World War I airplane are the following: 1) Authentic markings for a Salamander operating by the Royal Flying Corps in France, July 1918; 2) Detailed paint guide and 3) Illustrated assembly instructions.
