The Supermarine Spitfire, designed in 1935 and used to such good effect during the Battle Of Britain in the Summer of 1940 evolved into a number of variants that were used throughout the war. The Spitfire LF Mk. XVIe on display at the Polish Air Force Museum which is the subject of this book and was one of 1,054 of this variant built. Since this model was designed for low to medium levels of combat, many of the fabric covered surfaces were replaced with metal covering thus making it more resistant to damage from small arms fire. Included in this book are: 1) 160 color close-in photographs showing the aircraft from almost every angle; 2) 2 color aircraft profiles and 3) 1 card of high quality decals. This book is 44 pages and is in like new condition. The authors are Grzegorz Szymanowski and Tomasz Szlagor. Edition published in 2005.
