The Stinson Reliant SR-9 was the 1937 version of the famous SR series, which was first manufactured in 1933 and produced up through 1941.  The -1 and -6 variants were straight-wing designs, which established a reputation for ruggedness and reliability in corporate and personal use.  In 1936, the revolutionary “gull-wing” configuration was introduced with the SR-7.  The SR-8s and SR-9s were five-passenger executive aircraft with comfortable, deluxe interior accommodations.  Engine variants along with minor cowling and exterior changes distinguished the -10 series, which were the last civilian Reliants built.  During World War II 45 privately owned SR-8’s, -9’s and -10’s were requisitioned for military use, which is a fitting tribute to the basic reliability of the Stinson SR series of aircraft.  By the time production ended in 1941, just over 1,300 Reliants, across all variants, had been produced.  This older, out-of-production Stinson Reliant SR-9 scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for a Stinson Reliant SR-9 as flown in the late 1930s; 2) Clear plastic windshield & cabin windows; 3) Detailed cabin; 4) Detailed engine; 5) Optional position door; 6) Optional position pilot; 7) Simulated fabric covering; 8) Painting guide and 9) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in excellent condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
