The movie Submarine X-1 is a World War II action drama that centers on an embattled submarine commander named Richard Bolton.  Bolton failed on a previous undersea battle,  losing control of his submarine, in a tough fight with the Germans which resulted in the sinking of his vessel.  This incident led to Commander Bolton being discredited among his fellow soldiers.  A subsequent clearing of his name, however, allows him to be able to take charge of a secret training program for a new type of submarine which is scheduled to be used on a dangerous new mission against the Nazi warship Lindendorf.  With redemption on his mind, Commander Bolton must call on his knowledge and skill to overcome the same adversaries who earlier sank his submarine.  Starring James Caan among others.  Widescreen in color.  Released in 1969.  Runtime 90 minutes.
