The legendary Spitfire became the most revered aircraft in Great Britain, and was a major contributor in the winning of the Battle Of Britain during World War II.  It was the only British fighter aircraft of the time able to combat the German Me 109 on equal terms.  The Mark VB Spitfire was the most widely produced version and was armed with two 20 mm cannons and four 7.7 mm machine guns carried within its wide cord wings.  It entered service in March, 1941 and was later the basis for a number of long range Spitfire derivatives, as well as, the Seafire produced for the Royal Navy.  This Supermarine Spitfire VB scale model includes the following features: 1) Authentic markings for both a Spitfire VB flown in Europe and an example flown in North Africa; 2) Beautiful box art; 3) Clear plastic canopy; 4) Detailed cockpit; 5) ) Detail injection molded parts; 6) Detailed landing gear; 7) Recessed panel lines and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in like-new condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
