Arguably the most famous British aircraft of World War II, the Supermarine Spitfire was to become a legend in its own time.  Powerful and deadly, the Spitfire was to prove its versatility time and time again during World War II.  The Spitfire dueled with the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, swooped low over enemy territory on deadly reconnaissance missions, defended the island of Malta and supported the D-Day invasion among other exploits during World War II.  The book, Supermarine Spitfire, is a detailed account that charts the history, development and operational history of the Spitfire and comes complete with over 100 photographs, full color artworks, performance tables and technical diagrams.  Note: the pages of this book have water damage at the bottom of each page but are complete, readable and priced accordingly.  That said, this book contains many color side profiles from a number of different countries that flew the Spitfire during and immediately after World War II.  The book is 46 pages.  The author is Mike Spick.  Edition published in 1990.
