The book, The AT-6 Harvard, part of Arco Publishing Company's "Famous Aircraft" pictorial series published in the 1960s, chronicles the story of the men who flew the AT-6 and provides a wealth of information on the aircraft itself.  "The AT-6 Harvard" known to thousands of American air cadets as the "Texan" was designed by North American Aviation as a single-engine advanced trainer aircraft for the United States Army Air Forces, United States Navy, Royal Air Force and the air forces of other British Commonwealth countries.  The AT-6 was used throughout World War II and well into the 1950s as an advanced trainer aircraft.  In addition to advance flight training, AT-6s served various air forces around the world as fighter-bombers, observation,  reconnaissance and scout aircraft.  By the 1960s many AT-6's had been retired and found their way into the growing civilian "war-bird" community.  The AT-6 was powered by a Pratt & Whitney 600 horsepower radial engine and usually carried a flight instructor and air cadet.  The operational characteristics of the AT-6 are as follows: 1) Top speed of just under 210 mph; 2) Range of just over 700 miles and 3) Service of just over 24,000 feet.  While the AT-6 was primarily used for advanced flight training, North American made provisions in the aircraft structure for the mounting of up to three. 30 caliber machine guns.  The major sections of "The AT-6 Harvard" are as follows: 1) The Royal California Air Force; 2) Who Jumped American Airlines?; 3) "Will It Go To 22,000?" and 4) "the best scout trainer in the world.".  In addition to an informative narrative, "The AT-6 Harvard" includes the following features: 1) Approximately 90 black and white photographs; 2) 2 black and white illustrations; 3) 14 black and white side aircraft profile illustrations; 4) 1 three-view black and white illustration of a Fleet Finch primary trainer of No. 9 Elementary Flying Training School; 5) four-view black and white illustration of LT-6G flown by the 6147th Tactical Control Group, Korea, 1952 and 6) 8 pages of reprinted material from the main body of the AT-6 manual.  This book is 64 pages and is in very good condition.  The author is Len Morgan with Richard Groh (scaled drawings).  Edition published in 1966.
